Socio-medical assistance in Roman City
Roman City is placed in the middle of Moldavian highlands , in Neamt county, Romania, at the confluence of Siret and Moldova river, and has the coordinates 46055' N latitude, 26055' E longitude. First mention is in ,,Letopisetul Novgorodului “ document, from 1387 . The first written document about Roman is a donation document from 30 of March 1392 . The name of the city is from the ruler Roman I Musat, the founder of the city. The most representative medical intitutions are :
Sec. XVII – inside of Manastirea ,,Sf. Voievozi” Monastery it was organized a health centre.
1753 – the second health centre was established at ,,Precista Mare’’ Monastery.
1754 – Jewish community built its own health centre.
1797 – Vartolomei Putneanul initiated the construction of the first hospital, with the financial support of Veniamin Costachi Bishop.
1884 – it was open the hospital ,,Precista Mare” with new furniture and medical inventory .
1893 – in the neighbourhood of Roman was built a leprosery hospital.
1884 – Division VII-th built a military hospital.
1990 – the new building of the hospital was open on Tineretului street , with modern laboratories and 700 beds.
Also were inaugurated a Dental clinic, a child permanent shelter, five urban medical clinics.
A hospital for contagious diseases are available..
There are functional social and medical services, at home, delivered by association ,,Precista Mare”.
A network of drug stores assist the hospitals.
